Description

Mic placement: 8 inches out from the 14th fret angled and pointing toward the area of the fretboard in between where the neck meets the body and the top of the sound hole. No processing except a Waves L2 plugin for a volume boost, placed on the master bus. Cubase... Presonus Firestudio interface.

  • Suprisingly, the Peluso is my least favorite in this recording. It's harsher than the others and less natural sounding to me. The KSM27 seems to have the most bottom-end, but that makes it a bit muddy. I think I like the ADK SL the most here. Just feels right.

  • I thought the ADK A-51S was a bit cleaner than the SL, but they were pretty close. Hard to tell if the difference was down to a small difference in placement. They both had good potential to me.
