API Hardware vs Waves API Plugin

Description

Each individual track of this recording (Kick, Snare, OH, Guitar Left, Guitar Right, Bass And Vocals) were all EQed through a Vintage API 550a EQ. Then the Waves API Plugins were set to the exact same settings and the entire mix was bounced. There is an Analog feature on the Waves plugins, so one clip has Analog IN and one clip has Analog Out. The bands name is Oliver and the Song is called "It's Gonna Break"

  • I like the real API here. The low end is just beefier. There is a real difference in the kick drum. But I'll bet you could get the WAVES plug in even closer with a little tweaking. It's impressive how close it comes. I'm not sure if I can pick a favorite between the two plugin versions.
