Firstly, I did not record this project. This was strictly a mastering project. Signal Chain: Lavry Blue DA Converter ---> Alan Smart C2 Compressor--->Cranesong STC-8--->TC Electronics Finalizer--->Lavry Blue AD Converter--->Waves L2.

Huge difference. The mastered version is definitely a lot bigger , wider, and more in my face. I would have compressed it just a little less personally, cause it feels kinda "slammed" and could use a little breathing room. But overall it sounds more polished than the original version. Are you not using the FATSO as much these days?By rackrecording on Oct 18, 2007 at 3:09 pm

I actually held back on the compression a little bit because i thought the drums and vocal were the focal parts. The begining riff has the drums a bit washed out, but after that there is quite a bit of drum volume left. I pretty much never use the Fatso for mastering anymore...i guess if i got something that was really clean and needed messed up I might throw the fatso in the loop.By shelterr on Oct 18, 2007 at 6:50 pm
