Mic placed 2 feet in front of kick, 1.5 feet off the ground pointed at the Kick Drum. Mic is angled downward about 15 degrees. Both Mics at -18db pad. Custom Made Tube Pre is a SoursSound, input gain at 9 o'clock with input pad in, output pad out. Chandler TG-2 input +30, output Full. All Recordings done at 96k through Lavry Blue a/d Converters. Drumset-DW Collector's Series. Kick-24X20, Rack 13X19, Floor 16X16, Pearl Dennis Chambers Snare. Zildjian 14" New Beat HiHats, Zildjian 22" A Ride, Zildjian 19" A Custom Crash, Zildjian 20" A Custom Ride (crash). Played at 137 bpm to Nirvana's "Drain You".

The Hamburg definitely seems to focus more on the kick drum, but the S7 has a nice natural sound to it. That SoursSound Tube Pre seems to beat the pants off the Chandler, but maybe that's just because the Tube Pre recordings are louder here.
