Audio Clips

  • Female Vocal - No Compression

  • Same clip run through BAE 10DC Compressor

Settings were 4:1 Ratio, fastest (2ms) attack and slower recovery (release). Limiter off so compression only. Notice how the maximum peak volume is still about the same but the quieter words that were in the background are now brought up with others. Plus the whole tracks sounds warmer and bigger.

  • Male Vocal - No Compression

  • Same clip run through BAE 10DC Compressor

Again with a 4:1 Ratio, fastest attack and slower recovery (release). Limiter off. And again, the quieter words like "Don't you think" that were in the background are now brought up with the others and their is a tonal enhancement to the whole track.

  • Mix Bus - Before 10DC

  • Mix Bus After BAE 10DC

Ratio: 1.5:1, Attack: 2ms, Recovery: "A2", Limiter Off, Makeup Gain at 6 . Band is Lindsey Pool, www.lindseypool.com

  • Hard Rock Mix - Before BAE 10DC

  • Same Mix After BAE 10DC - Heavier Compression

2:1 Ratio, 2ms Attack, Averaging about 4 dB of Compression, Makeup Gain raised until somewhat peaking the converters on the Lavry AD.

  • The 10DC definitely adds girth and power to the tracks! It also doesn't noticeably "pump" which is nice.
