 Description
This is part of a quick recording for a relatively inexperienced punk band I recorded the other day. The four mics were connected to a Zaolla snake, connected to Apogee AD16X converters, lightpiped into an RME Fireface 800, and then recorded into Samplitude V10 Pro. There is absolutely no processing/effects added to the recording (no EQ, reverb, or compression) but it was converted from 32 bit float in Samplitude to MP3.

It was my first time using the 3 Zigma C-LOL-251 mics as drum overheads.

Those sound nice, a bit cleaner than when I used them the other day. It sounds like your overheads are rather close to the cymbals, is that right?

The ride sounds good, as do the cymbals of course. What did you have on snare?

I just added the rest of the tracking info. The OH mic above the hi-hat was around 6 1/2 feet high and the one above the ride was just a little lower. In the past I have had many recordings where the hi-hat and ride sound far away and I liked how the CHI C-LOL-251s kept them close and clear in the mix.
